Introduction
Nina Garcia is a fashion journalist and TV personality. The editor in chief of Elle, Nina Garcia is best known as a judge on Lifetime’s Project Runway. Previously, she served as the Fashion Director for both Marie Claire and Elle. She has written four books, The Little Black Book of Style, The One Hundred: A Guide to the Pieces Every Stylish Woman Must Own, The Style Strategy and Nina Garcia’s Look Book. Born Nina Garcia de Castellanos on May 3, 1967 in Barranquilla, Colombia to wealthy importer, she was exposed to fashion and glamour at an early age by her mother. She traveled all around the world as a child with her parents each year. She is a 1983 graduate of Dana Hall School. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Boston University. She also earned a bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising in 1992 from the Fashion Institute of Technology. She is married to David Conrod, with whom she has two sons, Lucas and Alexander.
